Mrs. Farzanna McCord

Mrs. Farzanna McCord, age 58 who resided at 1109 Green Valley Road in Griffin passed away on Sunday, January 6th.  The family may be contacted at her resident.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 10th at 1:30 p.m. from the Mt. Zion Baptist church at 321 East Taylor street in Griffin, Georgia.  Interment will follow in the Westwood Gardens at 1155 Everee Inn road in Griffin.  The repast will be held at the Mt. Zion Baptist Fellowship Hall. Reverend Dr.  Cleopatrick Lacy is pastor and Rev. Eddie Johnson Sr. will be the Eulogist. Mrs. McCord is survived by 5 children:Terrencia Neal (Robert) of Zebulon, GA; Haniyyah Allen (Mextier), Tiffany McCord (Marlon Miller), Rodney McCord (MeQuanta) and Joseph Blalock all of Griffin, GA; 7 grandchildren; Jumayion Allen, Jacquez Allen, Jordan McCord, Jhaden Allen, Jalen McCord and Zhyion Miller all of Griffin, GA; Zankyedriah Neal of Zebulon, GA;  sister and brother who preceded her in death, Linda Pate and Larry Shannon; sisters and brothers: Lucy Yarbrough of Fayetteville, GA; Harriet Hollis (Charles), Bernice Phinazee Alexander, Stanley Phinazee  (Yvonne) and Darrell Phinazee all of Zebulon, GA; Helen Crowder and  Melissa Britt of Griffin, GA;  Rev. Mrs. Alice Mae Traylor Gotell

Mrs. Alice Mae Traylor Gotell, age 82 who resided at 3 Hickory Street in Barnesville passed away on Tuesday, January 8th at the Spalding Regional Medical Center.  The family may be contacted at her resident.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 12th at 1:00 p.m. from the Bethel Baptist Church.  Interment will follow in the Sugar Hill A.M.E. cemetery. Mrs. Gotell is survived by 4 children: Alice Lois Nash (Johnny) of Griffin, GA; Carletter G. Owens of Barnesville, GA; Georgette Traylor and Alex Traylor (Donna) of Topeka Kansas; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 3great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Calvin Middlebrooks

Mr. Calvin Middlebrooks, age 68 who resided at 103 Second Street in Thomaston passed away on Friday, January 11th in Fulton County.  Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 19th at 12:00 noon from the Raymond Henry Memorial chapel at Bentley’s Funeral Home.  Rev. Robert Releford will be the Eulogist.  Bentley’s Funeral Home is in charge of all professional services.


Mr. Middlebrooks is survived by a son, Anthony Middlebrooks (Dimesha) of Atlanta, GA; two grandchildren: Jaden Middlebrooks and Detry K Middlebrooks; three sisters: Susie Jackson and Minnie Pearl Middlebrooks of Thomaston; Ethel Holloway of Atlanta, GA; a host of other relatives and friends that will miss him dearly.

Mr. Joe Lewis Manns

Mr. Joe Lewis Manns, age 77 who resided at 403 Smith Road in Thomaston passed away on Friday, January 11th at the Upson Regional Medical Center.  The family may be contacted at his resident.  A wake services for Mr. Manns will be held on Thursday, January 17th from 7:00 –8:00 p.m. at Bentley’s Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held on Friday January 18th at 1:00 p.m. from the New Shady Grove Baptist Church.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  Pastor Fred Blackmon will officiate.   Bentley’s Funeral Home is in charge of all professional services.

Mr. Isaac Carter

Mr. Isaac Carter, age 75 who resided at 564 Triune Avenue passed away on Friday, January 11th.  The family may be contacted at the home of his niece, Veronica Wright at 414 Triune Avenue.  Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 19th at 2:00 p.m. from the Raymond Henry Bentley Memorial Chapel at Bentley’s Funeral Home.   Bentley’s Funeral Home is in charge of all professional services..

Mr. Christopher Bernard Brown “Pep”

Mr. Christopher Bernard Brown “Pep”,  age 34 who resided at 130 Mill Street in Barnesville passed away on Thursday, January 31st at the Atlanta Medical Center.  The family may be contacted at his resident.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 6th at 11:00 A.M. from the East Mt. Sinai Baptist Church.  Rev. Mr. Tony Wayne Foster

Mr. Tony Wayne Foster, age 55 who resided at 699 Forsyth Street Apt-D 33 in Barnesville

passed away on Saturday, February 2nd at the Macon Medical Center.  The family may be contacted at his resident.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 7th at 2:00 p.m. from the Freeman/Fluellyn Memorial chapel at Bentley’s Funeral Home in Barnesville.  Interment will follow in the King Hill’s cemetery of Culloden, Georgia.

Mr. Joseph Ward, age 68 who resided at 1219 Solomon Street in Thomaston passed away on Thursday, February 7th at the Christian Ministry Hospice in Griffin.  The family may be contacted at the home of his sister, Jean Ward at 757 Old Talbotton Road in Thomaston. Mr. Douglas Edward Stinson, age 70th, who lived 2403 Crest Hwy Thomaston, Ga. died

on Saturday, March 16th. at The Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Ga. The Stinson and Ellerbee

Marcus Searcy, Tessica Searcy all of Thomaston, Ga. and Keilani Body (James)  of Riverdale, Ga.; nine grandchildren; two sisters and one brother, Mr. Raymond Stinson, Mrs. Eloise Stinson Allen (Albert) and Mrs. Dorine Stinson Ferguson all of Thomaston, Ga.; aunts and uncles, Mrs. Georgia Mae King, Mr. Melvin Ellerbee, Mr. Harvey Furguson, Mrs. Alma MaLone all of Thomaston, Ga. and Mr. Henry Stinson (Charlene) of Madison. \Mrs. Rosa Kate Hall, age 56 who resided at 592 Country Club Road in Woodbury passed

away on Tuesday, March 19th.  The family may be contacted at her resident.  Funeral services

will be held on Saturday, March 23rd at 1:00 p.m. from the Mt. Venus Baptist Church.  Interment

Mrs. Susie Bentley Barnes, age 95, who lived 419 Barnesville Street here in Thomaston passed at her resident on Wednesday, February 6th. Mrs. Susie Bentley Barnes is survived by only one daughter and two sons, Mr. Earnest Barnes, Jr.,  Mr. Walter Barnes (Lula) and Mrs. Bessie Barnes Perry (Walter) all of Decatur, Ga. Mrs. Barnes is also survived seven grand and five great-grandchildren; devoted cousins, Mrs. Ruth Daniels of Yatesville;  Stewart James Williams (Edith) and Mrs. Joyce King (Harvey) all of Thomaston, Ga.; a host of nieces, nephews and close friends . 





Mrs. Annie Doris Sinkfield McGruder, age 67 who resided at 627 Marble Road in Gay passed away on Monday, February 11th at the Spalding Regional Medical center.  The family may be contacted at her resident.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 16th at 1:00 p.m. from the Woodbury Miracle Fellowship Center.  Interment will follow in the Shiloh Baptist Church cemetery.  Bishop Thomas Daniel will be the Eulogist. Mrs. McGruder is survived by her mother, Virginia Sinkfield;six children: David Chunn (Emma) of Gay, GA; Willie Mitchell (Deshunda) ; Wendy Jackson (Carl) of Griffin, GA; Enrique Mitchell of Thomaston; Sylvia Mitchell of Newnan, GA; Randy Mitchell (Penny) of Atlanta, GA; 23 grand-children; 15 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers: Willie Sinkfield of Senoia, GA; Annie Lois Tucker (Willie), Bobbie Jean Smith (Willie), and Earnestine Sinkfield all of Alvaton, GA; aunts and uncles: Jim Millens, Jr. of Jonesboro, GA; Willie Melvin Millens (Frankie) of Decatur, GA; Besty Compton (Willie C) of Alvaton, GA; Annie Jean Mitchell of Lutherville, GA; a host of other relatives and friends that will miss her dearly.





Mr. Wayne Adams, age 55, who lived 105 Weldon Way, Apartment B, Newnan,

Georgia died at The Piedmont Hospital in Newnan on Monday, February 11th. His mother, Mrs. Annie Maude Gates Adams, and all other relatives can be contacted at their resident.

Funeral and burial services for Mr. Adams will be on Saturday, February 16th. at 1:00 P.M.

Mr. Tillman Acey, age 40 who resided at 500 Daniel Street in Thomaston passed away on Tuesday, February 12th  at the Upson Regional Medical Center.  The family may be contacted at his resident.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 16th at 1:00 p.m. from the St. Mary AME Church.  Interment will follow in the Lincoln Memorial cemetery.  Pastor Coleman Dumas will be the Eulogist.   Bentley’s Funeral Home is in charge of all services.

Mr. Henry “Zip” Wallace, age 66 who lived 105 Ave. H. in Thomaston died at The Golden Living Center on Wednesday, February 13th. The  Wallace and Banks families can be contacted at their resident. Mr. “Zip” Wallace is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sallie Banks Wallace of Thomaston, Ga. four children, Calvin and Alvin Wallace both of Atlanta, Ga., step-children, Keshia and Chrissy Daniel both of Thomaston, Ga.; one sister and brother, Mr. J.C. Wallace of Barnesville, Ga. and Mrs. Jeanette Wallace White of Griffin, Ga.; one aunt, Mrs. LoranneHarps of Barnesville, Ga.; a host of nieces and nephews he loved and helped to rear as his own. 





Mrs. Marlene Hathaway Walker, age 63, who lived 400 West Chester Drive in Barnesville died on Thursday, February 14th. The Family can be contacted at their resident. Mrs. Bobbie Watson Jordan age 63 of 1734 Copeland Street Thomaston, died Friday February 15, 2013 at the Upson Regional Medical Center, funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 20th at 1:00 p.m. from the Mary Lizzie Baptist Church.  Rev. McArthur Childs is the pastor and Rev. She is survived by two children; Kimberly Jordan, Macon, Ga., Sherman Jordan, Thomaston, Ga. five children, three sisters; Earnestine Washington, Thomaston, Sandra (Robert Lee) Colbert, Roberta, Ga., and Mary Watson, Thomaston, one brother Andrew Leon (Melinda Fay) Watson, Thomaston.




Mrs. Dorothy Brice Jones, age 79, of 1343 Beasley Road in Roberta, Ga. died Friday, February 15th  at The Golden living Center in Thomaston, Ga. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Bentley’s And Sons Funeral Home in Thomaston, Ga.The Family can be contacted at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Linda Winfrey (Rodney) who lives 350 trice Road, Thomaston. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 20th at 1:00 p.m. from the Bethel Baptist church in Roberta.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  Rev. Ronald Antoine is pastor and Rev. Curtis Jackson will be the Eulogist.  Bentley’s & Sons Funeral is in charge of all professional services.


She is survived by her husband, Mr. William G. Jones of Roberta, Ga.; six children, ShirleyA. Green (Augustus) of Thomaston, William Joe Jones (Linda) of Roberta, Earl Jones (Sheryl) of Macon, Bruce Jones (Karen) of Sacramento, CA., Linda Winfrey(Rodney) of Thomaston and Betty J. Johnson (Thomas) of Macon; 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; one  sister, Mrs. Lillie Maude Moran of Atlanta; three sisters in law, Mrs. Geneva Brice of Macon, Mrs. Betty Brice and Mrs. Jossie Jones both of Atlanta; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives who will miss her.

         Mrs. Sonya Fryer Horton , age 45, of Lamar County died on Monday, March 25th. at the Upson Regional  Medical Center  in Thomaston, Ga. Mrs. Mary Parham Holt, age 88 formerly of Bray Road in Woodbury passed away on Wednesday March 27th at the Florence Hand Home in Lagrange, Georgia.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 1st at 1:00 p.m. from the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Woodbury.Interment will follow in the Walker cemetery.  Pastor J. D. Mr. Patrick Lorenzo Moore, age 51 formerly of Thomaston, moved to Atlanta several years ago

passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at the Molena Nursing Home.  The family may be

contacted at the home of his sister, Karen Moore Bedell at 214 West Walker Street.  Funeral

services will be held on Saturday, October 19th at 11:00 a.m. from the Raymond Bentley Memorial

chapel at Bentley’s Funeral Home of Thomaston.  Interment will follow in the Lincoln Memorial
